Final Letter to Hardy on Mock Theta Functions

During his final period in India, Ramanujan wrote to Hardy about functions he called mock theta functions.

The letter announced a mysterious class of q-series whose full modern interpretation emerged much later through mock modular and harmonic Maass form theory.
